ABOUT THE ARTIST & ART
Much of the artwork by David Hinnebusch has it's roots in his growing up in Los Angeles, living in Bali, Indonesia, East Africa and New York City.
His first creative endeavor waswriting books as a child and then playing music jazz in middle school and punk rock as an adult. He worked in post production and then production in the 1990s, and in 2000, started making a living with his art.
Most of the art is figurative, joyful and cantankerous in turns. The ethic of all the work is based on the idea of creating meaning out of chaos, and living a life of gratitude and humilty- and fun.
A QUOTE FROM THE ARTIST:
"I love 20th Century history, California history, my years in production, all things near the beach, and Hollywood history especially film noir.
I love the female figure and love making art out of all the fancy and real friends I have made over the years. Also, because I love writing and am writing, some of my creations are 'mindscapes' of the narrative aspect of living."
